John Legend Backtracks On Kanye’s Meeting With Donald Trump

(AllHipHop News) Could R&B singer John Legend be softening his stance on Donald Trump?

Earlier this week, John Legend criticized Kanye West for his meetup with Donald Trump in New York City. TMZ.com caught John Legend as he was leaving LAX, and they asked him a series of questions about Kanye’s meeting.

When asked if he would meet Trump, John Legend seemed to be on the fence.

“I don’t know,” said an uncomfortable looking John Legend.

Upon further questioning about the importance of having an open dialogue with President Trump, John Legend seemed to capitulate.

“I said it’s fine to meet with him,” John Legend said.

Earlier this week, John Legend was singing a different tune when it came to Kanye’s meeting with Trump.

In an interview with CliqueTV, John Legend blasted Kanye and called the meeting a “publicity stunt.”

“I don’t think it’s impossible to talk to him about issues, but I won’t be used as a publicity stunt,” said John Legend. “I think Kanye was a publicity stunt. I’m pretty disappointed with Kanye that he says he would have voted for Trump.”
